QUINCY — The front-to-back, middle-of-the-field trio that carried the Quincy Notre Dame girls soccer team to a state championship earned some worthy postseason honors.

So did Quincy High School’s dangerous sophomore connection.

Raiders forward Lia Quintero, midfielder Avery Keck and sweeper Eva Dickerman — they are all juniors — received all-sectional plaudits from the Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association. Blue Devils midfielders Bri Lannerd and Rian Moore also earned all-sectional honors.

QHS freshman midfielder Sydney Welsh received all-sectional honorable mention.

Quintero, who was tagged honorable mention all-sectional as a sophomore, led QND with 31 goals and 13 assists, while scoring the game-winning goal in the second overtime of a 1-0 victory over defending Class 1A state champion Belleville Althoff in the super-sectional. She suffered a knee injury in the state semifinal against Normal U-High that will require surgery and sideline her for six to eight months.

Keck finished the season with 10 goals and 10 assists, scoring the game-winning goal in Class 1A state championship with 2 minutes, 8 seconds remaining in regulation for a 1-0 victory over Richmond-Burton.

Dickerman anchored a defense that strung together a school-record 10 consecutive shutouts to end the season and did not allow a goal in seven postseason games. The Raiders posted 20 shutouts during a 23-3-3 season.

Lannerd led the Blue Devils with 14 goals and 10 assists, helping QHS go undefeated in winning the Western Big 6 Conference championship. Moore finished with five goals and 11 assists as the Blue Devils went 12-7-1.

QHS assistant coach Ron Bridal was named the Section 7 Assistant Coach of the Year.
