QUINCY — During a season in which he became the 23rd player in the history of the Quincy High School boys basketball program to reach 1,000 career points, junior guard Bradley Longcor III showcased why a vast number of college coaches are interested in his services.

He has poise, precision and presence.

Longcor has a first-team all-state honor to his credit now, too.

Longcor was one of 10 players in Class 4A named to the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association all-state first team. The 6-foot-3 playmaker averaged 16.1 points, 3.2 assists, 3.1 rebounds, 1.4 steals. He shot 55 percent from the field and 47 percent from 3-point range with 78 made treys, which is second in school history.

Named the MVP of the Western Big 6 Conference, Longcor earned all-conference honors for the third straight season and was an all-tournament selection at the Collinsville Prairie Farms Holiday Classic.

He will head into his senior season with 1,297 points, 250 rebounds, 285 assists and 99 steals in his career.

Longocr received honorable mention all-state honors from the Illinois Media, which places five players on the first team and five on the second team.

Quincy junior forward Keshaun Thomas was a third-team IBCA all-state selection. The 6-foot-6 Thomas averaged 13 points and eight rebounds, while shooting 56 percent from the field and 80 percent from the line. A first-team All-WB6 selection, he led the league in rebounding and free-throw shooting.

Thomas will head into his senior season with 912 points, 600 rebounds, 110 assists and 82 steals in his career.

Three other WB6 players earned all-state mention in Class 4A — Moline junior forward Trey Taylor on the first team, Rock Island senior guard KJ Lamonte on the third team and Moline junior forward Braden Freeman on honorable mention.

In Class 3A, Sterling senior forward Lucas Austin was a first-team all-state selection and senior guard Andre Klaver was a second-team selection.
