QUINCY — The Quincy High School girls tennis team wanted to make sure it remained primed for some challenging and entertaining duals looming in the coming weeks.

Sweeping away Jacksonville on Thursday afternoon did the trick.

The Blue Devils lost only eight games total, winning 9-0 as four singles players and one doubles team didn’t lose a game at the Greeman Tennis Center in Reservoir Park. Quincy is 5-0 in dual matches this season.

Audra Cain and Amelia Willing set the tone at No. 2 doubles with an 8-0 victory. The Blue Devils’ other tandems — Lily and Phoebe Hayes at No. 1 and Mary Dodd and Anika Reddy at No. 3 — won 8-2 and 8-1, respectively.

In singles play, Lily Hayes beat Jacksonville’s 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 and Phoebe Hays beat the Crimsons’ Molly Turner 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2. The remaining four matches — Cain at No. 3, Willing at No. 4, Reddy at No. 5 and Dodd at No. 6 — finished with 6-0, 6-0 scores.

After traveling to tournaments the previous two weekends, the Blue Devils won’t play again until Monday’s dual with Quincy Notre Dame at 3:30 p.m. at Reservoir Park.
