MOLINE, Ill. — Friday’s dual match victory over Moline gave the Quincy High School girls tennis team some welcome momentum heading into Saturday’s Moline Invitational.

The Blue Devils used it to seize the day.

Quincy won championships at No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles and shared first place at No. 1 doubles when rain interrupted the event, leading to the Blue Devils finishing first in the abbreviated team standings.

Amelia Willing won the No. 2 singles bracket, while Audra Cain finished fourth at No. 1 singles. In doubles action, Quincy’s Anika Reddy and Mary Dodd finished first at No. 2 doubles. The tandem of Lily and Phoebe Hayes were in the title match at No. 1 doubles, but shared the title because the match couldn’t be played due to weather.
