QUINCY — With spring break scheduled immediately after the Quincy Notre Dame girls basketball team won the third-place trophy at the Class 2A state tournament at Illinois State University’s Redbird Arena, the welcome home celebration had to be put on hold.

Tuesday, the Raiders finally were able to enjoy their fire truck ride and the pep assembly in The Pit honoring their success.

Senior co-captains Abbey Schreacke and Blair Eftink spoke, along with QND coach Eric Orne after the Raiders went 35-2 and completed a two-year run in which they won 65 games and two state trophies.
