QUINCY — A seven-run outburst in the bottom of the first inning, three-plus innings of relief from a sophomore right-hander making his varsity debut and the first victory for new Quincy Notre Dame baseball coach Rich Polak made Tuesday’s game against Illini West complete.

The Raiders won 8-3 at Ferd Niemann Jr. Memorial Ballfield, and Muddy River Sports Editor Matt Schuckman captured the action in this photo gallery:
