QUINCY — The competitive nature of the doubles matches meant the crosstown showdown between the Quincy High School and Quincy Notre Dame girls tennis team wasn’t going to be a landslide either way.

In fact, the Blue Devils’ victory wasn’t secure until Arrianna Trinh walked off the court with s 6-2, 6-4 victory over Anna Robb at No. 6 singles Monday at the Greeman Tennis Center in Reservoir Park. QHS won the dual 6-3, taking two doubles matches and four singles matches.

The dual began with doubles play as the Blue Devils’ No. 1 tandem of Anika Reddy and Mary Dodd beat QND’s Kaitlyn Brown and Morgan Zanger 6-4, 6-2. At No. 3 doubles, QHS’s Trinh and Medha Pujar outlasted QND’s Paige Bliven and Robb 6-2, 7-6 (7-5). At No. 2 doubles, QND’s Alyssa Ley and Lydia Miller beat Gwen Mast and Evie Ott 6-2, 6-2.

In singles play, the Blue Devils won the first two matches. Reddy beat Ley 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 and Dodd beat Zanger 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2. A pair of victories for QND followed with Brown beating Mast at No. 3 6-1, 6-4 and Miller scoring a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Pujar.
