QUINCY — The Quincy High School boys tennis team traveled to the St. Louis metro east area last weekend and rolled him without losing a dual match.

That momentum carried over to Monday.

The Blue Devils wrapped up a dual victory over Quincy Notre Dame in the crosstown rivalry match at Reservoir Park by the end of singles play and cemented an 8-1 victory by sweeping the doubles matches.

Trevor Nelson set the tone for QHS at No. 1 singles, beating QND’s Alex Strong 6-2, 6-4. In the only match to go to a tiebreaker, QND’s Daniel Dyer beat QHS’s Surya Reddy at No. 2 singles 6-4, 0-6 (10-8). The next four Blue Devils — No. 3 Jason Derian, No. 4 Ethan Stark, No. Anderson Knapp and No. 6 Arrow Crist — each won in straight sets, combining to lose six games.

In doubles play, Reddy and Stark teamed up to beat Strong and Dyer at No. 1 with a 6-4, 6-1 victory. Derian and Knapp won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2, while Crist and Holzgrafe won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3. The Blue Devils are 16-5 in dual matches this spring.
