QUINCY — It turned out to be a season opener unlike any other in recent memory, complete with fans waving fans, heat sending an official to the locker room and a pair of Quincy High School juniors showcasing their burgeoning talents Friday night at Flinn Stadium.

Tykell Hammers scored three touchdowns, Rico Clay intercepted two passes and returned one for a touchdown, and the QHS football team beat Quincy Notre Dame 55-12.
