QUINCY — The rain that fell over a 36-hour period left the Westview Golf Course’s fairways soft and the greens accessible for Wednesday’s Western Big 6 Conference girls golf championship.
Moline took full advantage of it.
The Maroons posted a 373 total to win the team title, while sophomore Haley Robertson took individual medalist honors with an 85. Geneseo took second as a team with a 378, followed by Sterling at 398 and Rock Island and Quincy High School tying at 419.
Individually, Geneseo senior Keely Roberts took second with an 89, while Galesburg senior Cora Johnson and Geneseo senior Olivia Seei tired for third at 90. Also earning first-team all-conference honors were Sterling junior Emily Schwingle (92), Moline senior Lana Edkin (93), Quincy’s Ashley Walbring (94), Rock Island junior Jozie Kerr (94) and Moline senior Narasha Henning (94).
For the Blue Devils, junior Diya Nanjappa posted a 106, junior Sophie Schlueter carded a 109, sophomore Alexa Mosley shot a 110, sophomore Bella Struck finished at 115 and sophomore Karedyn Williams was at 119.
