QUINCY — Midwest Jiu Jitsu Academy competed in the Fuji Springfield tournament on Saturday, Sept. 9 and took first place team with a total of 4,450 points for the combined child and adult competitors. The second place team was Decatur Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with 3,320 points, and third place went to Pedigo Submission Fighting with 2,940 points.

Midwest Jiu Jitsu Academy student Chad Willey took second in the Masters II Middle Weight Blue Belt Division during the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu No-Gi Pan American competition on Saturday, Sept. 30. The IBJJF tournaments are among the biggest competitions in the jiu jitsu arena throughout the year.

Midwest Jiu Jitsu Academy has locations in both Quincy and Pittsfield.
