QUINCY — Rack ’em.

The American Cue Sports Illinois State Billiard Championships are returning to Quincy.

A highly successful event in 2022 in which Quincy’s own Kelsey Bockenfeld won the women’s state championship, the five-day billiards extravaganza will take place March 15-19, 2023, at the Oakley-Lindsay Center.

In a press release from the American CueSports Alliance Illinois Association, the success of last year’s event was attributed to the efforts and hospitality of the Quincy Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Oakley-Lindsay Civic Center, the host hotels — The Atrium Hotel on Third and Quality Inn — and the City of Quincy.  It’s the reason the event is returning.

Hundreds of pool players from Illinois ACS sanctioned leagues will participate in various singles and team tournaments within the five-day event.

Tom ‘Dr. Cue’ Rossman, the World Artistic Champion and a billiards Hall of Famer, will display the skills of trick-shot shooting with amazing ability in pocketing multiple combinations. Rossman will show the winning shots that propelled him to TV stardom and two world championships.

The main events will begin at 9 a.m. each day at 9am at the Civic Center. More than 120 pool tables will be in the arena, provided by MPA Table Service of Minnesota. The tournament will be under the direction of the Greater Midwest Pool Players Association. The event will be streamed live by TVMike.tv. of Detroit.

Admission is free and all ages are welcome.
