QUINCY — A walk-off and a milestone.

Not a bad way for Eryn Cornwell to end her day.

The Quincy Notre Dame senior softball standout followed Caitlin Bunte’s leadoff single in the fifth inning Wednesday with a two-run home run to left field at the Backyard, finishing off a 12-1 victory over West Hancock and giving Cornwell her 100th career hit.

It capped a perfect day as she went 4 for 4 with two doubles and five RBIs.

Cornwell’s first double set the ball rolling on QND’s offensive onslaught. Bunte led off the game with a single and scored on Cornwell’s double to left field. An error and a hit batter loaded the bases, leading to Lindsey Fischer’s RBI walk.

After an infield popup and a strikeout, the Raiders got the train rolling again. A walk forced in the fhird run of the inning and an error plated another. Bunte’s single scored two and Cornwell capped the eight-run frame with a two-run double.

QND (14-4) tacked on two runs in the fourth on a wild pitch and an error. Cornwell finished things with her home run.

Bunte finished 3 for 4 with three runs scored and three QND pitchers held West Hancock to three hits. Kendall Nagel had two hits and drove in the Titans’ lone run.
