Brown’s sweep at No. 3 singles catapults QND to victory over QHS in city tennis showdown

QUINCY — Kaitlyn Brown got the run started. Her teammates finished it off.

The Quincy Notre Dame girls tennis team won the bottom four singles matches and two of the three doubles matches to earn a 6-3 victory over Quincy High School on Monday at Reservoir Park. The teams split their pair of regular-season duals.

Brown, playing No. 3 in the Raiders’ lineup, beat the Blue Devils’ Gwen Mast 6-0, 6-0. Lydia Miller followed with a 6-0, 6-3 victory at No. 4, Paige Bliven won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 5 and Anna Robb outlasted Arrianna Trinh 6-3, 1-6 (10-5) at No. 6.

QHS’s Anika Reddy beat Alyssa Ley 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while the Blue Devils’ Mary Dodd defeated Morgan Zanger 6-0, 1-6 (10-4).

In doubles action, Reddy and Dodd beat Brown and Zanger 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1. At No. 2, Ley and Miller won 6-4, 6-1, while Kennday and Khloe Schreacke won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3.
