QUINCY — The biggest leap of faith was made with complete faith it would work.

Still, it took loyal readers to make that happen.

Thank you for sticking by us.

Today marks the third anniversary of the launch of Muddy River Sports, and because of your trust in the news we provide and the product we produce, we continue to grow at a rate that continues to amaze me.

In two weeks, we will launch “Muddy Night Lights,” a high school postgame football show from 10 p.m. to midnight that will feature coaches interviews, discussion and recaps of everything that transpired throughout our area in Illinois and Missouri. This will be our first venture into hosting a live show, and as scary as that seems at times, it’s incredibly exciting.

Honestly, I’m pumped to bring a new level of passion for prep sports to our Muddy Buddies.

Looking back to the summer of 2021 when the decision was made and plans were put in place to launch Muddy River Sports, there was a strong belief it would work. This is a sports savvy community with fans who want coverage of their favorite teams.

As time has evolved, we have worked to expand our reach and make every community within our region feel included. There’s more work to do, more places to get to, more games and events to cover, and my promise to you is we will continue to grow and improve.

This is truly a labor of love. I cannot see myself doing anything other than covering sports, and there is no place I’d rather be. My wife may tell you she’d like to see me a little more on weekends, but she knows how much of my heart and soul goes into my work.

I hope that shows in the product we produce every day.

So, thank you to everyone who has read one of our stories, clicked on one of our photo galleries or watched an episode of “Schuck on a Truck.” Your faith in us has strengthened my faith that our team can provide the best sports coverage around.

The fall sports season is upon us and we’re ready to roll. We will see you at the field, courts and courses throughout the area as we bring you a unique perspective on the athletes and coaches who bring pride to our communities.

And hopefully this third anniversary is one of many more to come.

Cheers!
