Schuck on a Truck Zoom Edition: QHS Hall of Famer Kyle Cartmill

Cartmill

QUINCY — As a kid, Kyle Cartmill chose to be the Blue Devil mascot for his Halloween costume.

His passion for the Quincy High School boys basketball program has never waned, no matter where life’s road has taken him.

Cartmill, a 1995 QHS graduate, became a Hall of Fame player who enjoyed a solid career at Illinois State University and remains closely tied to both programs while living in Texas. His name is synonymous with success at QHS, having scored 1,572 career points — fifth most in program history — and the setting single-game 3-point shooting record which has since been broken.

Cartmill recently sat down with Muddy River Sports Editor Matt Schuckman to talk basketball, 3-point shooting and teaching the next generation the game on a “Schuck on a Truck Zoom Edition” brought to you by Refreshment Services Pepsi.
