Schuck on a Truck: Truman State offensive coordinator Jason Killday discusses start of fall camp

BARING, Mo. — Jason Killday views the Truman State University football team’s start of preseason workouts the way he wants each of the Bulldogs to see things.

It’s a brand new day.

A year ago, when the Bulldogs went 9-3 and won the America’s Crossroads Bowl, Truman State established a single-season school record for yards per carry (5.78) and amassed the second-most total yards in a season with 4,866. The 6.27 yards per play was the second highest in program history as well.

For Killday, who is entering his seventh season as the Bulldogs’ offensive coordinator, that’s history. His focus is on stacking quality practices together in succession in order to have Truman State ready to run wild once again when the season kicks off September 3 against Davenport at Stokes Stadium.

The Winchester, Ill., native, who spent six seasons as an assistant coach at Quincy University, spent time with Muddy River Sports Editor Matt Schuckman talking about the upcoming season and the family atmosphere the Truman State program creates in this latest episode of “Schuck on a Truck,” brought to you by Area Distributors.
