QUINCY — Bradyn Little’s name is littered all over the record books.

The Quincy High School senior quarterback established new single-season records in every passing category this fall, throwing for 4,130 yards with 263 completions and 47 touchdowns. Each one of those marks ranks among the top 10 single-season performances in Illinois High School Association history.

In the process, Little became one of the most prolific passers in IHSA history.

The right-handed gunslinger finished his three seasons as the starting quarterback with 700 completions, 10,674 yards passing and 119 touchdown tosses.

In case you were curious, that’s more than 6 miles worth of passing yards.

He ranks second in IHSA history in completions and passing yards behind Greenville’s Tyler Hutchinson, who threw for 10,894 yards and 727 completions from 2011-14. Little is third in TD passes behind Hutchinson and Aurora Christian’s Jordan Roberts, who played 2005-08. They each threw 127 career touchdown passes.

Above all else, Little and the rest of his senior counterparts changed the culture and trajectory of this program.

Over the past two seasons, the Blue Devils went 22-2 with back-to-back undefeated regular seasons. Quincy had not enjoyed an undefeated regular season since 1935, and those 22 victories are more than the Blue Devils enjoyed collectively from 1990-99.

Not only did Quincy win back-to-back Western Big 6 Conference championships, but the Blue Devils will head into the 2025 season riding a 15-game conference winning streak, one shy of the all-time record.

Meanwhile, Little won’t be far away. He has committed to Quincy University with the goal of becoming a four-year starter and helping the Hawks climb to the top of the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Little joined Muddy River Sports Editor Matt Schuckman on the tailgate of his pickup to discuss his historic career and being named the 2024 Muddy River Sports Player of the Year for this episode of “Schuck on a Truck,” brought to you by Shottenkirk Toyota.
