HANNIBAL, Mo. — Golf is taking Quinn Thomas places most 16-year-olds can’t fathom.

Recently, it had him walking fairways once crossed by legends.

Thomas, who will be a junior at Hannibal High School in the fall, played in the 115th Missouri Amateur Championship, which meant teeing it up on the iconic Bellerive Country Club layout in St. Louis. Bellerive has been the site for five major championships — three on the PGA Tour and two on the Champions Tour — and was where the PGA Championship was played in 2018.

Thomas joined Muddy River Sports Editor Matt Schuckman on the tailgate of Schuck’s pickup truck to talk about mud volleyball, his golf game and playing Bellerive.
