Editor’s Note: Quincy Notre Dame will hold its Hall of Fame induction ceremony at approximately 6:30 p.m. Saturday between games of the 2024 QND Tip-Off Tourney at The Pit. Below is the biography used by the QND Hall of Fame committee to honor one of this year’s inductees.

QUINCY — A state champion. An all-stater. A record setter.

That’s quite a legacy Cassidy Foley created.

A three-sport standout who graduated from QND in 2014, Foley is best known for her soccer exploits. In four varsity seasons, she scored 135 goals, which ranks third in program history, and set the record for career assists with 88. She also established single-game records for goals (six) and assists (five).

Foley received all-sectional honors as a freshman before earning all-state plaudits from the Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association three consecutive seasons. She helped the Raiders win back-to-back state championships in 2012 and 2013.

After one season at Lewis & Clark Community College, where she led the NJCAA Division I with 33 assists and scored 16 goals, she transferred to Quincy University. She was a three-year starter with the Hawks and helped them reach the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Division II national tournament in 2017.

Had it not been for soccer, she might be as recognizable for her volleyball exploits. A three-year starter who helped the Raiders win the state championship in 2011, Foley finished her volleyball career with 942 kills, 1,031 digs and 113 aces. She was named a first-team all-stater as both a junior and a senior and was the Quincy Herald-Whig Player of the Year as a senior in 2013.

Foley also was a four-year letterwinner and a two-year starter on the girls basketball team, playing on state championship teams in 2011, 2012 and 2013 and helping the Raiders finish third in Class 3A in 2014.
