Editor’s Note: Quincy High School will hold its Hall of Fame induction ceremony at approximately 6:30 p.m. Saturday between games of the 53rd QHS Thanksgiving Tournament at Blue Devil Gym. Below is the biography used by the QHS Hall of Fame committee to honor one of this year’s inductees.

QUINCY — The most dominant rebounder in the history of the Quincy High School girls basketball program, Tiffany Terwelp-Smith is the only player with more than 1,000 rebounds as she finished her career with 1,027 boards. She also scored 1,346 career points — one of only seven players in program history with 1,000 or more points.

As a senior, Terwelp-Smith averaged 15.4 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game and was named an honorable mention All-American by Street & Smith’s Magazine, as well as a McDonald’s All-America candidate. She was a first-team All-Western Big 6 Conference selection and a Chicago Tribune and Illinois Basketball Coaches association all-state honoree.

As a junior, Terwelp-Smith averaged 14.5 points, 12.6 rebounds and three blocked shots per game, becoming the first player in QHS history with more than 300 rebounds in a season. She earned second-team all-state honors from the Champaign News-Gazette.

She was the Illinois team’s MVP in the McDonald’s/Herald-Whig Classic.

Terwelp-Smith was a four-year starter at Missouri State and the Bears’ leading rebounder in 2006-07 and 2007-08 and ranks seventh in career rebounds with 842. She ranks seventh in rebounding average at seven boards per game and is fifth in single-game rebounds with 18 boards against Arkansas State.

She scored 986 points in her Missouri State career and was an honorable mention All-Missouri Valley Conference selection as a senior.

She and her husband, Andrew, have three children and live in Springfield, Mo.
