Jordan Smith developed from an inexperienced shooter to one of the best in the history of the Quincy High School rifle program.

A four-year letterwinner, Smith set the school record in the 3-position air rifle with a score of 588 out of a possible 600 during his sophomore season. As a senior in 2008, he won the state championship in the air rifle. In between, Smith put together quite a resume of accolades.

In 2006, he finished third overall at the Montgomery Belle Classic, which is the largest high school rifle event in the country. He was a member of the QHS team that won the NRA

national championship in 2006. He attended the USA Shooting Junior Olympics at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., in 2007 and was the only male shooter to compete in both the .22 smallbore and air rifle divisions.

In 2009, Smith joined the Army National Guard and served his country for five years. During that time, he attended Western Illinois University and earned a degree in computer science. In 2015, he was honorably discharged from the military and has been working at the Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing since then as an IT specialist.
