Upcoming hunter safety education courses in Adams County for 2024 begin in February

ADAMS COUNTY, Ill. — Hunter safety education courses will be held on four weekends at different locations throughout Adams County in 2024. Each class will meet on from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday and again from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Hunters must attend both sessions.

The courses are open to all boys, girls, women and men of all ages. Youths under age 10 must be accompanied by a guardian 16 or older. There is no charge. All course materials are furnished for participants. The course is taught by volunteer instructors for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

Dates and locations:

  • Feb. 16-17 — Twin Oaks Club, 2707 Bonansinga Drive in Quincy
  • March 22-23 — The Outskirts, 307 N. Main in Loraine
  • Aug. 9-10 — Paloma Community Building in Paloma
  • Sept. 20-21 — Twin Oaks Club, 2707 Bonansinga Dr. in Quincy

  • handguns
  • archery
  • rifles
  • shotguns
  • state regulations
  • wildlife conservation and management
  • first aid and survival
  • muzzle loading
  • tree stand safety
