QND, Central teams top Gardner Camp outdoor skills tournament

Sunshine greeted all 14 area high school teams for the Gardner Camp 3 on 3 Tournament sponsored by Ducks Unlimited.

Individuals from teams of three represented their schools in .22 Rifle, Trap, and 3-D Pop-Up Archery … with the final event, a kayak relay, ending last week’s competition.

The Quincy Notre Dame Blue Team finished first. Coach Jeff Agard’s team consisted of Caiden Geise, Dylan Schrage and AJ Siebers.

Finishing second from Central High School, The Hunting Crew with Head Coach Marvin Genenbacher … and students Isaac Genenbacher, Elijah Genenbacher, and Lucas Rebman.

Central also claimed third place with Coach Jesse Hooker leading The Mischievous Three consisting of Case Hughes, Corbin Hoosier and Mason Ingalls.

Individual champions from the event:

  • Luke Schuette, Liberty High School – Rifle
  • Dylan Schrage, QND – Trap
  • Lucas Rebman, Central 3-D Pop-Up Archery 

Gardner Camp is a not for profit outdoor and recreational facility dedicated to youth.  On June 4, the camp will be holding a Youth Wingshooting Camp. The Clinic will be run by Certified Wingshooting instructors. There is no cost to attend and there will be both classroom and shooting field education. For ages 12 and above, attendance is limited.
