Youngblood leads three Panthers receiving all-state softball honors

MONROE CITY, Mo. — Three Monroe City softball players headlined the area’s haul of all-state honors from the Missouri High School Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Panthers senior outfielder Carly Youngblood was a Class 2 first-team selection, while senior infielder Mackenzie Moss and freshman utility player Audri Youngblood were both second-team honorees. Highland sophomore infielder Emma Harshberger was a second-team selection as well.

In Class 1, Canton sophomore catcher Kinsey Biggerstaff was a second-team pick.

Carly Youngblood hit .370 with an .822 slugging percentage as she piled up nine doubles, nine triples and two home runs to go with 19 RBIs and 28 runs scored. She walked 11 times and struck out juist three times in 85 plate appearances. She had 10 stolen bases without getting caught and committed just one error in the field.

Moss was the Panthers’ top run producer, driving in 26 runs and scoring 28 as she hit .455 with a team-leading 10 doubles. She had three triples and two home runs

Audri Youngblood hit .507 with nine doubles, three triples, 15 RBIs and 21 runs scored. She stole 11 bases without being caught.

Harshberger hit .472 with nine doubles, three triples, 10 RBIs and a team-leading 23 runs scored. She struck out just three times in 98 plate appearances.

Biggerstaff hit .415 with three doubles, four triples, 15 RBIs and 13 runs scored. She also drew a lead-leading 13 walks, while committing just one error defensively.
