PALMYRA, Mo. — The Palmyra football team showed some moxie after falling behind 14-0 Friday night. It wasn’t enough to keep Hallsville from rolling to a 46-6 victory, but it was a sign that an inexperienced roster is growing.

In Dalton Hill’s debut as the Palmyra head coach, the Panthers pulled within 22-6 at halftime after Drew Copenhaver hauled in a touchdown pass from quarterback Aaron Ritchey late in the second quarter. The Indians’ defense was dominant in the second half, invoking the mercy rule running clock.
