CENTER, Mo. — The Palmyra girls basketball team is showing what it takes to win convincingly. The Palmyra boys are showcasing what it takes to win tough. Tuesday night, that combination led to a doubleheader sweep.

The Palmyra girls blitzed to a 23-7 lead over Mark Twain at the end of the first quarter and finished off a 77-20 victory to improve to 2-0. Candra King led the Panthers with 23 points, while Sydney Compton had 12 and Tatum White added 11.

The boys game was tied at 20 at halftime before Palmyra systematically pulled in front in the second half for a 55-45 victory. Bear Bock and Carson Hicks scored 14 points apiece for the Panthers.
