CENTER, Mo – The Bowling Green Bobcats were considered the favorites on Friday night on the road at Mark Twain in a matchup of Eastern Missouri Conference unbeaten teams.

And in a physical game that lived up to its billing, Bowling Green’s Marcus Starks ran for 209 yards and three touchdowns as the Bobcats remained unbeaten with a 28-14 win.

Landon Moss ran for 103 yards for the Tigers, who fell to 4-1, but went toe-to-toe with Bowling Green throughout the game.

“Mark Twain made them earn every bit of it,” said veteran broadcaster Jim Ross on Louisiana’s KJFM Radio, who carried the game. “It was two heavyweights going at it. Neither team does anything flashy. You know Mark Twain is going to be ground and pound. We also know Bowling Green’s got the ability to do some stuff on the outside, but they were content to play ground and pound right with Mark Twain. Mark Twain’s for real, but Bowling Green was the better team tonight.”

Bowling Green outgained Mark Twain 407 yards to 250 yards.
