Archers can practice their skills at Admiral Coontz Recreation Center beginning Wednesday
HANNIBAL, Mo. — Archery is a fun hobby for all ages and skill levels and can be practiced at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center every Wednesday from 6:30-9 p.m. starting Jan. 8.
Recreation supervisor Emily Hultgren said indoor archery practice offers several benefits that make it an appealing activity:
- Skill Development: It’s a great way to refine your technique and improve your aim in a controlled environment, allowing for focused practice without outdoor distractions.
- Safety: The indoor range is designed with safety in mind, reducing risks associated with shooting in uncontrolled environments.
- Community: It is a welcoming community where archers of all levels can connect, share tips andsupport each other.
A variety of 3D archery targets, such as deer, turkey, bears, badgers, rabbits, dinosaurs, wolves and coyotes, will be available.
Participants must bring their own bows and arrows. This is not an instructional program, it provides a place for archery practice.
Cost is $5 per visit. A season pass can be purchased for $50. Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult, and a waiver must be filled out by all participants at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center.
