MACOMB, Ill. — The rematch is set.

The Quincy Notre Dame and Macomb volleyball teams will go head-to-head at 6 p.m. Thursday at The Hangar at Macomb High School to decide the Class 2A regional championship. This will be the fourth meeting in the last two years between two staunch programs.

QND beat Macomb in three sets in the Class 2A Farmington Sectional championship a year ago, which came on the heels of the Bombers winning in three sets at The Pit during last year’s regular season. The Raiders swept the Bombers in two sets at Macomb’s Washington Street gym earlier this season.

Tuesday, top-seeded QND dispatched Knoxville in straight sets, winning 25-15, 25-17. Senior outside hitter Emma Hoing had 13 kills and six digs, while sophomore outside hitter Nora Wiley had 11 kills and three digs. Annie Eaton finished with 35 assists for the Raiders.

Macomb advanced with a 25-18, 25-15 victory over Monmouth-Roseville. Junior outside hitter Kathryn Lukkarinen led the Bombers (26-9) with nine kills, while Kelly Ladd finished with five kills and Ellie Duncan had eight digs.
