WOOD RIVER, Ill. — The Quincy Notre Dame girls golfers figured Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin was the bona fide favorite to win the Class 1A Roxana Sectional, but after that it would be a dogfight to see which two additional teams qualified for the state tournament.

The Raiders didn’t happen to be in that fight at the end.

QND posted a 381 team score and finished ninth in the 12-team field at Belk Park Golf Course. Macomb posted a 421 team score and finished 12th.

QND sophomore Belle Boudreau shot an 83 and was in a three-way tie for the final individual spot advancing to the state tournament. However, Rushville-Industry’s Kaitlyn Seymour won the playoff with a par on the first hole and will play at Red Tail Run Golf Course in Decatur this weekend.

Other scores for QND were Meredith Eversman with an 87, Ellie Price shot a 98 and Caroline Knuffman posted a 113. Maris McKee led the Bombers with a 103, while Brenlee Tibbitts shot a 105, Mullen Butcher a 106 and Taryn Richey a 107.
