The Rundown: QND volleyball team back in win column, Hannibal soccer team wins NCMC tilt

Rain wiped out some of the outdoor activities on tap for Tuesday, so the volleyball action took center stage. Here is the Tuesday rundown:

• The Quincy Notre Dame volleyball team got back to its winning ways in its first match since last week’s loss to Macomb. The Raiders dispatched Pittsfield 25-14, 25-11 at Voshall Gym to improve to 25-3. Abbey Schreacke had eight kills, three blocks and an ace for QND, while Annie Eaton had 12 assists and four kills.

• The Hannibal boys soccer team improved to 6-1 in the North Central Missouri Conference with a 5-2 victory over Moberly. DaeShon Glasgow led the Pirates with two goals, while Drew Porter had a goal and two assists. Hannibal is 14-5 overall.

• Kyra Carothers had 18 kills and three blocks as the Unity volleyball team swept West Hancock 25-12, 25-15. Ashlynn Arnsman had 11 service points and two blocks for the Mustangs, while Kylee Barry had 16 digs and Hayden Frankel dished out 16 assists.

• The Illini West volleyball team continues building toward the postseason, beating Rushville-Industry 25-19, 25-8. Josie Bryan had 14 kills, nine assists and seven digs, while Reagan Reed had eight kills, 13 assists, nine digs and 10 service points. Madalyn Boyer finished with 11 service points and two aces.

• A straight-set victory over Central improved the Southeastern volleyball team’s record to 23-5. The Suns won 25-17, 25-18 as Amanda Stephs had 10 kills, 10 assists and nine digs, while Abigail Shaffer had 11 assists and 10 digs, and Abbey McMillen and Kenzie Griswold had six kills apiece.

• The Culver-Stockton College women’s volleyball team improved to 8-4 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference with a sweep of Peru State. The Wildcats won 25-21, 25-16, 25-19 at Charles Field House in Canton, Mo. Heleine Filipe led C-SC with 13 kills, while Madison McClain had 12 kills and 15 digs and Lauren Bloom dished out 37 assists.
