Fischer’s goal lifts QND to road victory

MONMOUTH, Ill. — The Quincy Notre Dame boys soccer team is starting to build some momentum at the start of a taxing week. The Raiders followed up Saturday’s victory over Lincoln with a 1-0 victory at Monmouth-Roseville on Monday night. Rylan Fischer scored off a Channing Trevino assist in the 14th minute for his fifth goal of the season.

QND (3-4) will face Springfield at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Advance Physical Therapy Field before facing Quincy High School at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at home.

Stephens leads Suns with 18 kills in victory

AUGUSTA, Ill. — Amanda Stephens piled up 18 kills as the Southeastern volleyball team beat Liberty 25-15, 25-21 to improve to 7-0. Kara Stephens had 12 assists and 10 digs, while Amanda Stephens and Tegan Rigg had nine digs apiece. Maddy Gibbs led the Eagles with seven kills.

Chargers win in three sets over Saukees

PITTSFIELD, Ill. — The Illini West volleyball team outlasted Pittsfield 25-14, 24-26, 25-11 at Voshall Gym on Monday night. Reagan Reed led the Chargers with 12 kills, 13 digs, 12 assists and 12 service points. Corin Robinson had 16 assists and 10 service points, while Kennedy Gunning had nine kills. Lila Simon led the Saukees with 11 digs, Torie Stambaugh had 15 assists and Sophie Freesen finished with 11 kills.

Mustangs sweep Trojans

MENDON, Ill. — The Unity volleyball team picked up a 25-17, 25-20 victory over Triopia on Monday night. Kodi Duke led the Mustangs (3-4) with 14 kills, while Jillian Shaffer had 18 assists, Sadie Shoemaker had 10 service points and three aces, and Tegan Campbell added nine digs.

Wilson leads Bombers to dual victory

COLCHESTER, Ill. — Sophie Wilson shot a 42 at Gold Hills Golf Course on Monday, setting a career-low nine-hole score and leading the Macomb girls golf team to a dual victory over Illini West. The Bombers shot a 179 and the Chargers a 202. Mullen Butcher shot a 43 for the Bombers. Hattie Wood led the Chargers with a 46.

Trail Blazers earn tie on road

EUREKA, Ill. — The John Wood Community College men’s soccer team earned a tie Monday with the Eureka College JV. Haitam Kaouch scored off a Mason Monteyne assist for the Trail Blazers (0-2-2).

JWCC women suffer loss on road

HILLSBORO, Mo. — The John Wood Community College women’s soccer team lost 6-0 to Jefferson College on Monday. JWCC’s Breighlyn Thomas hit the post with a shot with 10 minutes remaining in the first half that would have cut the deficit in half. The Trail Blazers are 0-2.
