Record-setting efforts of QHS’s Little, QND’s Scott earn IHSFCA all-state honors

QUINCY — The most prolific passer in the history of the Quincy High School football program and the most prolific tackler Quincy Notre Dame has ever produced share common ground.

One of Camp Point Central’s most acclaimed two-way players shares it, too.

They are back-to-back first-team all-state selections.

QHS senior quarterback Bradyn Little received all-state plaudits in Class 7A from the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association, while QND senior linebacker Taylin Scott was selected in Class 2A and Central senior quarterback/linebacker Elijah Genenbacher and Brown County senior running back/linebacker Tyce Fullerton were Class 1A recipients.

Earning honorable mention all-state were QHS senior running back Jeraius Rice Jr. in Class 7A, QND senior safety Wyatt Mueller in Class 2A, and Central junior fullback/defensive tackle and Brown County junior fullback Trey Fullerton in Class 1A.

Little, who has guided the Blue Devils to an 11-0 record and back-to-back state quarterfinal appearances, has set single-season QHS records with 234 completions, 3,841 yards passing and 47 touchdowns. In his career, the 6-foot-1, 195-pound Little has thrown for 10,385 yards on 671 completions with 119 touchdowns.

The Quincy University commit sits second in Illinois High School Association history in completions and passing yards and third in touchdowns.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Scott, who has helped the Raiders to a 10-1 record and their first state quarterfinal appearance since 2019, has registered 162 tackles with 38 tackles for loss and five sacks. He has recovered one fumble and blocked one field goal.

Last season, Scott set the single-season tackles record with 181 stops and broke the career tackles record earlier this season.

Genenbacher has led the Panthers to a 10-1 record as they continue defending the Class 1A state championship won last November. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound senior has rushed for 876 yards and thrown for 448 yards with 25 total touchdowns, while amassing 114 tackles, four tackles for loss, three sacks and one interception.

The 6-foot, 185-pound Fullerton, who overcame offseason knee surgery, helped the Hornets return to the Class 1A playoffs as he rushed for 533 yards and a team-leading 10 touchdowns, while catching nine passes for 118 yards and two scores. Defensively, he piled up 112 tackles and eight tackles for loss with one sack and one fumble recovery.

Rice Jr. has rushed for 984 yards and 19 touchdowns while catching 52 passes for 895 yards and 14 touchdowns. Mueller has 69 tackles and five interceptions, while also rushing for seven touchdowns and tossing five touchdown passes. Niekamp has 91 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and eight sacks to go with 563 yards rushing and nine touchdowns. Trey Fullerton had 737 yards rushing with six touchdowns to go with 115 tackles, four tackles for loss and an interception.
