Quincy St. Peter, Carthage take third and fourth at IESA state tourney, two area girls golfers in top 10

METAMORA, Ill. — With two top-10 individual medalists and two teams in the top four, it turned out to be a pretty solid day for West-Central Illinois girls golfers at the Illinois Elementary School Association girls golf state tournament.

Quincy Blessed Sacrament eighth grader Natalie Druffel finished seventh individually at Metamora Fields Golf Course, shooting a personal-best 81. Meanwhile, Pittsfield seventh grader Elle Sanderson shot an 85 to finish 10th.

The Quincy St. Peter team of eighth grader Nancy Scholz and seventh graders Olivia Scholz, Georgia Wisslead and Catherine Knuffman finished third with a team total of 412. Nancy Scholz led the team with a 91.

The Carthage foursome of sixth grader Charli Wisehart, seventh grader Calli Robertson and eighth graders Sophia White and Audrey Sullivan finished fourth as team with a 438. Wisehart led the Bluegirls with a 99.
