GERMANTOWN HILLS, Ill. — The Pittsfield eighth grade girls basketball team is coming home with a state championship.

Pittsfield outscored Germantown Hills 12-2 in the first quarter of Thursday night’s Illinois Elementary School Association Class 3A title game, setting the tone for a 39-20 victory at Germantown Hills Middle School.

The Lady Braves finished their season with a 28-0 record.

Reese Ramsey led Pittsfield with 21 points, while Lincoln McCartney added eight points, Bailey Hill had six points and Kinlee Griggs added four. Ramsey was the state tournament’s leading scorer with 62 points overall.
