Muddy River Showcase rosters highlight basketball talent, success throughout area
QUINCY — There is one thing each of the players participating in the second Muddy River Showcase have in common.
They can call themselves alumni.
The top senior basketball players from West-Central Illinois and Northeast Missouri have all officially graduated from their respective high schools, but they will team up to represent their communities and their states in Saturday’s all-star games.
The girls game in the Illinois vs. Missouri format takes place at 4 p.m. Saturday at John Wood Community College’s Student Activity Center with the boys game to follow at 6 p.m. Admission is $10 with all ticket sales taking place at the door.
The rosters are stacked with talent.
There are six players who earned all-state honors last winter and 25 players who helped each of their respective teams win 20 or more games. There are nine regional or district titles, two sectional titles and one state trophy among them.
