Muddy River motorsports leaderboard, featuring the Stevie Dirt DIRTY THIRTY rankings

QUINCY — Here is a look at this week’s Muddy River motorsports leaderboards:

Stevie Dirt DIRTY THIRTY Rankings

Sport Mods

1. Adam Birck: No. 112 has not collected a checkered flag since May 8 … can you say overdue?

2. Shane Paris: He leads the series with three feature victories.

3. Logan Cumby: Have you noticed that no matter where Cumby starts a main event, he always ends up at or near the front?

4. Tanner Klingele: He’s No. 2 in the points standings and has moved within 19 points of series leader Birck.

5. Dakota Girard: Only Paris was stronger than Girard in last Sunday’s feature.

6. A.J. Tournear: Most improved driver in the series?

Modifieds

1. Austen Becerra: Austen is deadlocked with Mr. Wietholder in Muddy River Performance Points.

2. Dave Wietholder: Dave’s 14.251 qualifying lap back on May 22 was just a shade off Michael Long’s 2010 track record of 14.153.

3. Kenny Wallace: If Kenny had not missed a couple of weeks, would he be No. 1 at this point?

4. Mike Vanderiet Jr.: Mike was MIA last Sunday.

5. Frankie Wellman Jr.: Welcome to the rankings, No. 117.

6. Shawn Deering: The comeback seems to be coming together, week by week.

4-Cylinders

1. Jimmy Dutlinger: The driver to beat in the second half?

2. Michael Grossman: He was one of the many missing four-bangers last Sunday.

3. Derrick DeFord: Slowly, but surely, he has climbed his way into contention.

4. Jaden DeLonjay: Jaden is right near the top of the list of best young drivers at the Bullring.

5. Kim Abbott: That first feature of the season is coming … soon.

6. Jeffrey DeLonjay: We hear Mr. DeLonjay might soon be racing in a second series at the track.

Street Stocks

1. Rudy Zaragoza: If Rudy is not the most popular driver at the track by the end of the season, he’ll at least be on the medal stand.

2. Steve Grotz: He’s climbed both in the rankings and in the money-earned list. Grotzy trails only Robert Cottom (who is suspended) and Zaragoza in the cha-ching department.

3. Jake Powers: He took a night off at the Bullring last week to take in the World of Outlaws in Jacksonville.

4. Robert Thompson: He’s been steady all year.

5. Beau Taylor: The driver to watch in the second half?

6. Sage Martin: Arguably the sharpest looking car in the series.

Late Models

1. Denny Woodworth: At some point this summer, I think we’re going to see one heckuva feature involving D.W., Tommy Elston and Sam Halstead. At no point yet this season have all three veteran drivers simultaneously had their “A” game working.

2. Tommy Elston: The first year I covered racing at the Bullring was 1999, and Elston was one of the first drivers I interviewed. He’s always been a fiery competitor, but he’s always been gracious in both victory and defeat.

3. Sam Halstead: Only Woodworth has more Muddy River Performance Points than Superman.

4. Darin Weisinger Jr.: Mom and dad raised this young man quite well. The three most important things in his life are: 1. Racing. 2. Racing. 3. Racing.

5. Jeremy Pundt: I’ve always wondered if just about everyone who lives in Donnellson, Iowa, has a late model stashed away in their garage. Maybe we should ask Jeremy.

6. Mark Burgtorf: He’s ba-a-a-a-a-ck!
