Golf roundup: Bombers place third in back-to-back tournaments

PEORIA, Ill. — The Macomb boys golf team seems to be finding a groove.

The Bombers finished third back-to-back days in invitationals in Peoria and Normal. Macomb posted a 304 on Monday in the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational at Kellogg Golf Course to take third, while Quincy Notre Dame finished fifth with a 309.

Connor Watson, a senior, led the Bombers with a 71, finishing seccond individually. Justice Keene shot a 76 and tied for 11th. QND’s Konnor Craven and Beau Eftink each shot a 76 and tied for 11th.

Tuesday, the Bombers tackled the field in the Raider-Redbird Classic at Illinois State University’s Weibring Golf Course in Normal, taking third with a 318. Watson tied for fourth individually with a 74, while Hunter Wilson posted a 75 to tie for seventh.

Blue Devils shoot 330 at Spencer T. Olin

ALTON, Ill. — The Quincy High School boys golf team shot a 330 on Tuesday in the Redbirds Tee-Off Classic at Spencer T. Olin Golf Course. Gabriel Gold shot a 77 and Andrew Keane posted an 81 for the Blue Devils.

Saukees with solid effort in triangular

RUSHVILLE, Ill. — Jameson Noble shot a 40 to take medalist honors and the Pittsfield boys golf team won a triangular with a 168 total Tuesday at Scripps Park Golf Course. Rushville-Industry shot a 182 and Unity posted a 198. The Saukees’ Brennan Tomhave shot a 41 and Abe Welbourne shot a 43. Logan Lansing led Unity with a 46
