QUINCY — A pair of area standouts and a state champion who has signed with John Wood Community College highlight the rosters for the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association all-star games, being held June 8 in Pontiac.

Camp Point Central all-state guard Nick Moore will represent the south squad in the boys Class 1A-2A game, while Central-Southeastern all-state guard Brilynn Lantz will be on the south squad in the girls Class 1A-2A game.

Moore also will get to team up with Winchester West Central’s Zack Evans, who helped the Cougars win the Class 1A state championship last winter. Moore and Evans have signed with John Wood Community College.

The quarterback of the Central football team that went 27-1 the past two seasons and won the Class 1A state title last November, Moore averaged 15.5 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals per game last season on the hardwood and was a second-team all-state selection.

Lantz earned honorable mention all-state plaudits after helping the Panthers reach the Class 2A super-sectionals last winter. She averaged 10.7 points, 2.9 steals and 2.8 rebounds per game.

Evans became the all-time leading scorer in Cougars’ history while guiding West Central to the state title. Evans averaged 21 points, six rebounds and three assists per game in being named a first-team all-stater.
