Brown County, Griggsville-Perry win eighth grade boys basketball regional titles

QUINCY — A pair of area eighth grade boys basketball teams won Illinois Elementary School Association regional championships Thursday night.
Brown County captured a Class 2A regional crown with a 47-34 victory over Liberty at Mendon. The Hornets (26-1) advance to Monday’s sectional against Colchester West Prairie (21-5) in Colchester.
Griggsville-Perry won a Class 1A regional, beating Pleasant Hill 49-22 in Perry. The Eagles (23-2) advance to face Springfield Christ the King (19-6) in Monday’s sectional at the Griggsville-Perry Middle School.
