Area Distributors Area Player of the Week: Payson Seymour’s Kylie Simmons
PAYSON, Ill. — Kylie Simmons earned the ultimate sign of respect.
Pitchers quit pitching to her.
A senior on the Payson Seymour softball team, Simmons drew six walks in three victories last week as the Indians knocked off Unity, Griggsville-Perry and Pittsfield. The rest of the damage she did was more impressive.
Simmons went 7 for 8 with three home runs, two doubles, 11 runs scored and nine RBIs. She hit a grand slam to finish off a 22-5 victory over Griggsville-Perry and helped the Indians average 13 runs per game in that stretch.
Overall, Simmons leads the Indians with a .448 average and 19 RBIs.
Simmons’ bashing of the softball has earned her the Area Distributors Area Player of the Week.
