COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Hannibal wrestling team made history Saturday night, winning the Class 3 state championship to become just the second boys team in school history to hoist a crown. The Pirates join the 1930 boys indoor track team as state champions.
The Pirates had three individual champions — sophomore Austin Brown at 113 pounds, senior Tristan Essig at 132 pounds and senior Cody Culp at 144 pounds — and five others earn state medals.
