HANNIBAL, Mo. — The fourth-seeded Hannibal volleyball team opened the Class 4 District 4 tournament at Korf Gym on Wednesday night with a four-set victory over fifth-seeded Fort Zumwalt South, winning 25-23, 18-25, 25-19, 26-24.

Abbie Martin led the Pirates with 15 kills and 18 digs, while Ashlyn Hess had 20 assists and six digs, Courtney Locke had five kills, three blocks and two aces, and Kegan Greening had 17 digs while also breaking the program’s single-season record for digs. Malia Stolte added seven kills, seven digs, 17 assists and two aces.

The Pirates will face either top-seeded North Point or eighth-seeded Warrenton in the district semifinals at 11 a.m. Saturday at Korf Gym.
