Nootbaar, Liberatore to be part of Cardinals Caravan making stop in Hannibal next week

Caravan

HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Cardinals are coming.

The St. Louis Cardinals Caravan is headed to America’s hometown with an event planned for Jan. 12 at Hannibal-LaGrange’s Mabee Sports Complex. The Caravan will be in Hannibal from noon-2 p.m. with autographs, vendors and a presentation featuring current and former players.

The players expected to appear are outfielder Lars Nootbaar, left-handed pitcher Matthew Liberatore, left-handed reliever John King and outfielder Michael Siani. Two former Cardinals — outfielder Bernard Gilkey and catcher Gary Bennett — will be on hand as well.

John Rooney, the play-by-play voice of the Cardinals, will emcee the event.

The Cardinals will be using an autograph ticket system during the Caravan stop. The first 400 kids ages 15 and under on the day will receive a free autograph ticket as they come through the door which guarantees them one autograph from one of the current or former players.
