Nine-goal outburst gives Hannibal boys soccer team easy victory in tourney opener
HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Hannibal boys soccer team set itself up to make a run at the championship of its own tournament.
The Pirates opened the 2022 Pirate Shootout with a 9-1 victory over Macomb on Friday night at Veterans Field as seven different players scored. Hannibal (2-2) will face Parkway Central at 11 a.m. Saturday in the semifinals.
The championship game is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday. Columbia Hickman and Saxony Lutheran square off in the other semifinal.
Bodie Rolins had two goals and an assist for the Pirates, while Colton Dryden also scored twice. Drew Porter contributed a goal and two assists with Clayton Neisen netting a goal and an assist. Jacob Hickman, Pearson Parker and DaeShon Glasgow each scored a goal. Kevin Westhoff had an assist.
