Hannibal’s Crane takes fourth in javelin at state track and field meet, Morrison medals in discus

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Hannibal senior Kameil Crane capped her high school track career with a state medal.

Crane finished fourth in the javelin at the Class 4 state track and field championships Saturday at Adkins Stadium with a throw of 40.85 meters (134 feet). Her best attempt came on her second-to-last throw.

Carl Junction’s Madilyn Olds won the javelin with a toss of 45.6 meters (149 feet, 7 inches). Hannibal junior Harper Karr finished 15th with a toss of 32.74 meters (107 feet, 5 inches).

Hannibal junior Houston Morrison also medaled on the final day of the state meet, finishing ninth in the discus with a throw of 44.03 meters (114 feet, 5 inches). Morrison hit his best throw on his second attempt in the preliminaries.

Hannibal junior Cameron Davis finished 12th in the triple jump with a leap of 12.82 meters (42 feet).
