QUINCY — A second-quarter lull offensively put the Quincy University women’s basketball team in a hole it could never escape.

Leading 15-14 after the first quarter, the Hawks were outscored 24-9 in the second 10-minute frame by Ursuline College and suffered a 77-60 loss in the final game of the GLVC/G-MAC Crossover Challenge at Pepsi Arena.

The Arrows outscored the Hawks 10-1 over the final four minutes of the first half to take control.

Quincy went 7 of 13 from the field in the first quarter but managed to go just 4 of 11 from the field in the second quarter, missing both 3-point attempts. Turnovers again proved to be an issue as the Hawks committed 23 turnovers against just eight assists.

Cymirah Williams led the Hawks with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Janiece Dawson had 13 points and five rebounds. Quincy went just 2 of 6 from 3-point range.
