QUINCY — Kelly McClure capped off a decorated women’s lacrosse career with a major conference award.

The Quincy University graduate student was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Goalkeeper of the Year after helping the Hawks advance to the four-team conference tournament for the first time in program history.

McClure finished second in GLVC-only games in save percentage (.486), third in saves per game (10.3, 72 total), and fourth in goals against average (12.2) among goalkeepers with at least 100 minutes played. Overall, she finished the season with a .470 save percentage and 9.7 saves per game.

A two-time GLVC Defensive Player of the Week during the season, McClure received first-team All-GLVC honors. It was the fourth time in her career she received all-conference plaudits.

The Hawks, who lost to Maryville 23-7 in Friday’s GLVC Tournament semifinals, had sophomore defender Kara Wilhelm receive second-team All-GLVC honors and sophomore attacker Amelia Ham, sophomore defender Mikenna Ham and graduate student defensive specialist Patricia Chavira each earn honorable mention.
