QU volleyball sweeps William Jewell
QUINCY, Ill. – The QU Women’s Volleyball team returned to their home court and defeated William Jewell on Friday night in straight sets.
The Hawks’ offense was led by Alyssa Grimm and Emma Wijnbergen who each had 12 kills. Makayla Knoblauch recorded another double-double after dishing out a total of 37 assists along with 13 digs. America Galvan led the defense with 18 digs. The Cardinals managed to stick with QU’s offense for the first two sets, but Quincy used its offensive arsenal to pull away early in the third and final set. Quincy held a 13-2 lead to open the third set to thwart any chances of a comeback by the Cardinals. The Hawks won 25-20, 25-23, and 25-12.
QU will welcome Missouri S&T to Pepsi Arena on Saturday with game time set for 3:00 PM. The last time these two teams met was in the GLVC Tournament last April when the Miners ended QU’s season.
